A note from Mark...

Spring Fling 2008 is over and it went great!

Andy Andrews (our keynote speaker on Sunday morning) was unbelievable. I had heard him at a Gaither event a while ago but, at Spring Fling, he had plenty of time to speak. He spoke for over an hour and it was spellbinding. I think he is the best storyteller I've ever heard.

Woody Wright, Barbara Fairchild, LordSong, Stan Whitmire and The Perrys were all there. Chonda Pierce did a great job. The Booth Brothers did a wonderful concert Sunday afternoon and Aaron Wilburn cracked everybody up with his wonderful humor.

The biggest surprise was Saturday morning when I was singing Bein' Happy. The Gaither Vocal Band walked out and joined me on the chorus. The crowd went crazy! No one knew they were going to be there, well... except for me, Norman and a few others I had told. Then for 2.5 hours, it was me, Bill and the Vocal Band on stage together. We told stories and they sang songs from their new project, Lovin' Life.

Thanks Bill and the Vocal Band for making Spring Fling's Saturday event a wonderful experience.

I didn't want to advertise that The Vocal Band would be at Spring Fling because I wanted it to be a surprise for those who came without knowing they'd be there. And it was. I wish you could've heard the shock roll through the audience when they came walking out. (If you were there, you did.)
